E-Banking Adoption in the Context of Innovation and E-Service Quality: A Review on Concepts and Practices

Gayan Nayanajith, D. A. and D.M.R.Dissanayake,[DOI: 10.24214/jecet.B.8.3. 20821]

The rapid expansion of information & communication technology (ICT) makes an enormous impact on every aspect of modern-day human life. One of the widely studied areas of technological transformation is the retail financial services which includes retail banking activities. Internet has developed an IT-based revolution broadly in the financial services sector that has radically altered the way how the banking services are being delivered to customers. E-banking facilitates bank customers to engage in a vast array of financial services through banks’ official websites. However, e-banking adoption is still found as a researchable notion due to challenges attributed in different countries and market contexts. This paper aimed to review the concept of e-banking adaptation in line with theoretical and empirical discussions. Thus, literature review was employed as the main research tool. Research paper attempted to discuss cases that were found within the domain of e-banking adoption to introduce practice related insights. Paper emphasizes some of the case evidences whilst special reference has been given to consumer electronic banking in Sri Lanka. Research paper is organized as a concept paper while the arguments have been supported empirically. Discussions unveil the importance of customer awareness, innovativeness, service quality and marketing priorities to motivate customers adopting e-banking solutions. Finally, paper concludes directions for the future researches in line with empirical justifications.">

A Modified Type-2 Fuzzy System for Traffic Congestion Control

NNAA Sunday Barikui, BALE Dennis L.T., BAAH Barida, ANIREH V.I.E (PhD), [DOI: 10.24214/jecet.B.8.3.22235.]

This research paper is to assist road transport operators to better manage their operations and facilitate timely dispatch. It will allow for a dynamic optimization process that will accommodate far more uncertainties in the fuzzy modelling process. The utilization of a modified Type-2 fuzzy system for Traffic Control Management Information System (TRACMIS-2) using Gaussian membership function for traffic congestion control is proposed as alternative to the usual conventional traffic control system. A fuzzy technique with higher footprint-of-uncertainty as in the case of Type-2 fuzzy systems that uses specific context data, this can lead to improved results, particularly in real-time simulation studies. The main aim of this research is to design a modified version of a type-2 fuzzy network model using Gaussian membership function for traffic congestion control. Dynamic modelling performed with real-time data obtained from Rumuokoro roundabout, in the outskirts of Port-Harcourt were tested using the Type-2 fuzzy logic toolbox. The methodology used is Model-based Process Oriented Methodology in MATLAB-SIMULINK environment. Simulation results obtained were compared with conventional Type-2 fuzzy logic system based on trapezoidal membership function and Karnik-Mendel (KM) technique with a modified version of KMmod. The switch–point algorithm is what led to improved runtimes. Results of simulations show that the modified type-2 fuzzy logic systems reduce waiting times of vehicles on signal which is an improved performance in traffic congestion control management.

A Review on Real Time Object Detection using Single Shot Multibox Detector

Deepanshu Mehta, Ritika Dhiman and Dr. Jaswanti,[DOI: 10.24214/jecet.B.8.3. 23641.]

This research paper investigates the running of object detection algorithm on low-end devices to detect different kinds of objects in images. Deep convolutional neural networks (CNNs) which are used in SSD have recently proven extremely capable of performing object detection in single-frame images. Single shot multi-box object detectors have been recently shown to achieve state-of-the-art performance on object detection tasks. The implementation can be done using Pytorch object detection library, and COCO (Common Objects and Context) or Pascal VOC (Visual Object Classes) dataset to detect the common objects around a person like cars, dogs, laptops, etc. The main advantage of using SSD is that, unlike other methods it can be used in laptops and other personal devices.
